STRATEGIES TO WIN NEW PATIENTS

  • Provide Practice Presentations Kits, Alerts, Biographies and Insurance Lists- marketing pieces that tell referring offices about your expertise in your area of expertise.  It’s a resource for their practice and patients.
  • Communicate treatment plans and progress reports back to a referring physician. Referring physicians want to be kept up to date on the patients that are referred to your practice.
  • Take care of your top referring physicians.  It is a defensive strategy as your competitors will be out there and your referral base can decline without you realizing it unless you have consistent and systematic communication with them.
  • Provide Meals or Off –Site relationship building opportunities -this gives you the time to learn a little more socially about referring physicians and exchange information about your practice and field of expertise.
  • Develop relationships with everyone in the office as sometimes the front office staff are the gatekeepers! It’s an important strategy
  • Find out protocols/understand how the office works and be respectful of their rules.
  • Send thank you notes.
  • Conduct satisfaction surveys on your patients-share testimonials with referring physicians.
  • Observe Nurse or Medical Assistant appreciation day.
  • Conduct presentations in the community to educate about your practice or a new cutting edge treatment.
  • Ask the referring Physician what is the most important thing to them when taking care of their patients.
  • Ask for their most difficult patient.
